Learn to play bowls
Open Day 2025
We are always looking for new players. The perception is that bowls is an old man's game and while some of our best players are older, they started years ago as younger men. All of our younger players today often say with regret "I wish I started playing earlier"
These days the Wales Bowls team are younger than the Wales rugby team.
If at any time you played any cricket, rugby or swung a golf club, the hand to eye coordination will serve you well with lawn bowls. Throughout the tear the Sully Sports Bowls Club competes in a couple of competitions against other clubs within South Wales and further afield. No matter the level it is always a hard-fought competitive game.
The easiest way to get started is to join us on a Monday evening roll up session at 5.30pm, where a couple of our experienced players will be available to show you the ropes. We can supply all the gear you will need, just bring some flat shoes. Grab a friend or two and get in touch.
So if your mind set is "I'll play lawn bowls one day" or "When I retire". What is really holding you back from giving it a go now? We are confident after a month or two you will also be saying " I wish I had started playing earlier" We are a friendly club and enjoy the all important refreshment after a game. Come on down for a roll-up.
We welcome players of all standards to our club, especially those who have not played before.
Our joining fee is £80.00 for 2025 season. Application forms available at the open day.
Next open day will be Saturday April 12th 2pm.
